2007 Success Stories -Part 2

ABBY
makes her home in the great white north with a nice couple who have WSR sheltie Dillon. She will be taking lots of long walks for two reasons. 1. Because she needs to lose some weight and 2. Because her dad's driving abilities are questionable and it's safer for them to walk places (Sorry John, couldn't resist).
  BUDDY
makes his home with a great couple in northern Michigan. They already have Lucy, whom they adopted from their shelter so Lucy never quite made it here... They are long time sheltie owners and Buddy is settling in nicely to his new home.
  HOBBS
found a home with a boarding client of mine. It was so successful that I have partnered with an area cat rescue to have three kittens here for adoption all the time!
  KELLI
got a great home with a nice family who recently lost their Spitz mix to old age. Plus, the mom in the family graduated from high school with me and the dad played drums with me in the band! It was great to catch up.
    STITCH
is a big happy bouncy puppy that I found a great home for with a nice couple who can't wait to spoil him and start the obedience training! He gets long walks every day and is settling into his country home.

CALLI
makes her home thanks to a referral from WSR adoptee Cooper. She has a little sheltie sister who's going to help her get the weight off and a nice couple to share her life with.
  SUGAR
makes her home with the best friend of a veterinarian who has several WSR shelties. Thanks Dr. Rocci for the referral! Sugar has sheltie auto immune disease and this way, she'll get all the care that she needs with an experienced "sheltie vet"
  SNAPPLE
makes his home with a little sister sheltie named Sophie. She was one of the three Thorpe Auction puppies. Apparently one puppy isn't enough activity in the house for them so they adopted Snapple to keep her company. Now all we have to wait for is if they keep his name! If not, watch for the next unnamed sheltie to be Snapple III. I'm going to just keep trying until it sticks!
  MISTY
makes her home with a great couple and their adopted greyhound. Last I heard, she was getting to know the family felines too. She's happy that her breeding days are over and she can start working on getting back her Abs of Steel.
  .KEYLA
makes her home with a great couple and their little sheltie. They recently lost a WSR sheltie and little Brandi was lonesome. Keyla is going to get lots of exercise and love.

NIKKI
makes her home with a great veterinarian who has several other WSR and MNSR shelties. She gets to go to work sometimes too and be the official greeter of the clinic.
  MACK
is a little guy that was fostered in IL when he got here and another IL adopter who recently lost their senior dog was a perfect match for him. I met Mack at the Lia Sophia IL party, but he never made it to my house!
  RILEY
makes his home as a Yooper living with two husky playmates. After a family vacation, they were ready to take Riley home and I made the nice scenic drive to bring him to Ishpeming.
  GATLIN
(previously Wolfie)
has a great home with a fenced in yard and two playmates. He has a senior sheltie named Molly and a new sheltie puppy toy boy named Tucker.
  BONNIE
was surrendered by the loving family of a woman who died and wanted to make sure that she got a forever home. She found a home at the reunion with long time multi-sheltie adopters and will have a great retirement!

RADAR
He ended up at a humane society as a stray until we did some research and found out that the people who called the shelter really 'rescued' him from the breeder in Red Granite because they wanted him to have a good home. At 9 months old, they got him not neutered and for free. He is now neutered and has 2 other happy sheltie brothers to play with at the home of a great WSR volunteer.
  SKIPPER
He came from a puppymill to an unsuspecting family who was not ready to deal with his issues. By 5 months old, he was already looking for a new home. He found one with a great person who has a WSR sheltie "brother" that her mom has had for years. She recently decided to get a dog of her own (sheltie of course) and Skipper is a great match!
  MARSHALL
My bouncy, naked funny boy went to his new home recently. What a ham from the second he got there. The neighbors were all hollering out to me as I walked up the driveway, 'Hey! is that Marshall?". Little do they know that their neighborhood will never be the same again! Marshall makes his home with a great couple who had shelties in the past.
  ALFIE
makes his home with a great family who had a nice little girl sheltie that passed away of old age. His home has a bike/walking path going right through the backyard so Alfie will get lots of exercise and scenery. Since they had a girl dog before, Alfie is constantly getting called "she" and "her" so they put a 'swear' jar out on the counter and whenever anyone uses the wrong pronoun for Alfie, 25 cents goes in the jar for a donation to WSR. From what I'm guessing based on the number of times it happened in the short while that I was there, WSR will be getting a sizeable donation soon and Alfie will probably have a sexual identity crisis for a while :)
