BUDDY
makes his home with a great family who already has WSR sheltie Kelli Jo. They
are tearing around the house like they've lived together their whole lives. |
|
TUCKER
has two sheltie sisters (including WSR sheltie Sugar from earlier
this year). He's a little guy that went home to the great white north
wearing his adorable Fido Fleece. |

LEXI
was discovered on a free ad in the paper. She was surrendered by a family who
used her many times for breeding to make some money and when she was going
to start costing them money, they decided to get rid of her. She came in severely
hypothyroid, not spayed and not vaccinated. She is now well on her way to becoming
healthy and living with a great couple and WSR sheltie Meiko that was adopted
at the same time. |
|
BECCA
was adopted out by the Waukesha Humane Society four years ago and
then bit a child in the family. She was taken to the vet to be put
to sleep, but luckily, the vet realized that Becca was a wonderful
dog not deserving of death so he called some clients who just happen
to be Multi-WSR-Adopters. They took Becca home with the intent of
bringing her to WSR, but that never happened. They kept her! |
|
RILEY
makes her permanent home where she's been hanging out for the past few weeks.
She went to live with a sheltie person to learn some obedience, housebreaking
and social skills. After much thought, she is going to stay in the home with
Valerie and her nice older sheltie Colleen. |

PATRICK
is a sheltie who didn't quite make it to Wisconsin Sheltie Rescue. One of my
volunteers spotted him on an IL Freecycle list and called her friend in IL
to pick him up. They went to get him and before we could get to IL, they
fell in love with him and decided to keep him. |

JAMIE
He and his dachshund friend were surrendered
by a woman who surrendered another sheltie back in February. She
also had two yorkies at the time who have disappeared. I found out
she's surrendered two shelties to a rescue in her state as well (IL)
giving different excuses each time she has done it. Luckily, Jamie
found a great home with a nice woman who has a senior sheltie and
some horses. Jamie is getting settled in his new home and finding
out that it's going to be nice staying in the same place for the
rest of his life.. |

MEIKO
His story is interesting. He ended up at the Green Bay Area Humane Society as
an unneutered male stray. While he was there waiting for his owner to claim
him, he was attacked by another dog and it was pretty serious. The shelter
sent him to the vet clinic, but decided that they were only going to pay
$175 towards his vet bill, which wasn't going to be nearly enough.

TASHA
came into rescue at 78 pounds because the former owner never thought to take
her to the vet to see if something was wrong. Turns out it was simple - her
thyroid. Since being on the medication, she's lost 23 pounds already and
is feeling much better. She was recently well enough to be spayed and now
lives with WSR sheltie Sparky who is happy to have another dog in the house
again after his playmate Prince passed away earlier this year. |
|
BUDDY
(formerly Clyde)
makes his home with a great lady who is downsizing from a golden retriever that
recently passed away. She loves the breed because she babysits for a friend's
sheltie every day while the owner is at work. Clyde will have a daytime playmate
every day! He lives right on a lake and when I took him there, he was fascinated
with the big puddle in his backyard. |
|
MAX
got a great home with WSR sheltie Patrick. They had a little adventure and ended
up at the neighborhood liquor store, but were soon returned home and happy
to be back together. |

BRUNO
makes his home with an adorable little bi-black sheltie named Buddy.
They were already racing around the house when I left. Both of his
owners are retired so Bruno will get a ton of attention and lots
of walks. It's being reported that his tail hasn't stopped wagging
since he got there and he's already sporting a new haircut. |
|
KAMMY
makes her home in the great northwoods of Wisconsin with previous
sheltie owners whose dog passed away of old age. Kammy will have
a nice big yard and get to go to work with her dad a lot once she
settles in. |
|
CHIP
makes his home with a great couple and their well behaved sheltie
Logan. Chip was neutered as soon as he got to rescue, so his hormones
were still a little bit in overdrive when he went to his new home,
but Logan was letting him know "I'm just not that into you" and
hopefully they'll soon become good playmates. |
|
SWISS
makes his home with Mary, who's been fostering him since he got here.
He shares his home with two WSR shelties and a box of tennis balls. |
|
VANESSA
makes her home with a great couple who have a WSR sheltie as a Granddog
so they were on the lookout for a little mix and Vanessa is a perfect
match. By the time I left their house, she was already exploring
her new home and yard. |
