Wisconsin Sheltie Rescue

"We rescue shelties anywhere, any time"

When the wind blows just right, visibility is at least 5-6 miles,
the ceiling is at or above 5000 feet,
a sheltie who has found a home in the MSP area occasionally flies Air WSR.

Air WSR offers sporadic flights between 8D1 (New Holstein, WI) and LVN (Lakeville, MN)
You will not find Air WSR on Travelocity or Priceline.com, and Air WSR does not take reservations.

Here are the Flying Sheltie stories:

7/30/99 - Dakota flew home to Rosemount, MN. His new home was with Guy the pilot. It was 100 degrees on the ground, about 65 at 6000 feet. Dakota did fine in the air, got carsick in his new mom's new car. Click here to read the entire story.

7/30/99 - Sammy flew home to Bloomington, MN on the same flight with Dakota. Guy stayed with the aircraft and Lisa brought Sammy from the airport to her hotel to meet Denise, Sammy's new mom. Imagine Denise's surprise at the 3rd WSR reunion in June, 2000, when a strange man called out to her dog, "Hey Sammy!" Pilot and passenger, together again...
That's why it's called a Reunion!!

10/22/00 - Lucky flies home to St Paul, MN - DPA to 8D1 to LVN (DuPage, IL to New Holstein to Lakeville): Bandit and Dakota spend the weekend at Lisa's while Guy and Julie have a weekend getaway in Chicago. We pick up Lucky, Bandit and Dakota for the flight home from 8D1 to LVN. Lucky is, by far, the most enthusiastic member of the back seat! According to Lucky's new parents, they never leave the East Side, so Lucky is the traveler in the family. We hope that changes next spring when Lucky's mom and dad attend the 2001 WSR reunion.
From Webmistress #2: This trip was really neat-o because we also visited the Martinez family (Joyce, Julio, Tiffy and Koda), Warrenville, IL. They showed us once again what friendship and hospital-ity is all about! More story fodder for the bonfire at reunion #4...stay tuned :-)

8/31/01 - Bash flies from Lakeville, MN to New Holstein, WI. 12-yr old Bash (short for Sebastian) was an owner surrender at the Woodbury, MN HSCA. His flight was grounded for a week due to weather and pilot obligations. He spent the week with Bandit and Dakota in Rosemount, MN, before flying to "Auntie Lisa" and continuing the next leg of his journey to find his forever home. He slept most of the way.

Guy Schlak, a pilot and two-time WSR adopter from Rosemount, MN has the coordinates from LVN to 8D1 permanently saved in his GPS.
