2006 Success Stories -Part 1

STOLI
came in because the person didn't have time to care for him anymore. He is the sweetest one year old bi blue to hit rescue in a long time. Lucky for him, he went to be fostered by a WSR adopter who wanted to take him to obedience classes and he wormed his way right into their hearts, so he gets to stay there...

  CODY
went to his new home to live with fellow WSR sheltie Smokey Joe. It will be a good match because they are total opposites and should bring out the best in each other!!
  BUDDY
went home with his old pal Brynna, who's already been there awhile and settled in. With a huge new fenced yard and patio doors to lay in front of all day, Buddy and Brunna have it made. It's nice to go to a brand new home (after almost two years) and find a familiar face there waiting for you...
  CLINT
makes his home with a great couple who have been waiting for just the right sheltie for their household. I took Clint over there for a playdate afternoon and they fell in love with this great gentleman, renamed him Chummy and adopted him.
  KRISSIE
came in from a family whose children were grown and they didn't have time for her anymore. She is a 6 year old female that went to a home with visiting grandkids.

BRYNNA
got to go to a great home where they'll soon have a big fenced in yard for her to play in with her new WSR buddy Buddy!! Buddy will go with her as soon as the fence is up because he's not as trustworthy as Brynna is. I was so thrilled to meet these people and find out that they wanted to give Brynna and Buddy, both long time WSR adoptees a good home together.
  BAXTER
makes his home with a great couple in a quiet neighborhood where the only cars Bax can get excited about are the neighbors pulling out of the driveway. He's got a beautiful screened in patio room to look out at the birds in the backyard all day (in between playing with the cats).
  RILEY
makes his home in MN with an experienced sheltie owner who was pretty excited to make the trip to see everyone. She had her eye on someone else, but Riley chose her instead.
  MISTY
Little Misty has a retirement home!! She is with a great couple and their senior cocker/sheltie mix named Lily. Misty moved right in and found the food dish in about 4 minutes and when I left, there was a cat about the same size as her following her around playing with the leash. I think she's found a home....
  DAZER
found a terrific country home where Ruby, a WSR sheltie mix recently passed away. Dazer is having a blast with the family golden retrievers and has really taken a liking to his owners son-in-law, so I know that Dazer will always have a backup home.

JULIA
has a new blue brother named Eliot, who was adopted last year. They’re having a great time in her new home with her new kitty friends.
  BUDDY
was adopted by a great couple who currently have a little terrier. Buddy will spend his days hanging out in a bookstore being the customer relations director.
  SATIN
makes her home with a great couple who have been supporting sheltie rescue in many ways for a long time. When they came to bring beds and blankets one day, they fell in love with little Satin. She is their first sheltie in awhile and makes her home with a menagerie of small dogs including a 4.3 pound chihuahua and a killer poodle.
  DAISY
was being fostered in the area where she was surrendered from until I could make room for her here and she wiggled her way into her foster parent's hearts and is going to stay there. Another good foster home bites the dust!!!
  MAX
Another sheltie finds a GREAT home through the WSR Witness Protection Program. He makes his home with a great couple and their young-at-heart border collie named Shadow.

CODY
was rescued by an older couple and their senior shelties who got him from someone who knew they loved shelties. They tried to make it work, but their household was a little too laid back for this ball of energy so through the help of their doggie daycare and Jackson's family (who goes to the same doggie daycare as Cody did), Cody made his way to WSR. He now makes his home with a nice man who recently lost his senior sheltie.

SARA
makes her home with a great family and their felines. Sara has her very own boy to play with and they have already become close friends. Sara will be continuing her agility education and is looking forward to an active life with her new family.

In Sara's first week with her new family, she sent thank-you notes to everyone who sent her a WSR valentine wish. Future agility champ AND 21st Century Emily Post..WOW!
SUZIE/MAGGIE
is having a blast at her new home. Previously, there was a senior WSR sheltie there that passed away and they do have another adorable younger sheltie named Tillie that is slowly becoming Maggie's friend. They are convinced that Maggie has mountain goat in her breeding because she's been caught up on the cupboard twice eating cherry pie and once just rummaging through papers. Hey, if you can reach it, why not? ;)
SADIE
came into rescue due to toddler issues in the home and now is living a toddler-free life with previous WSR adopters and two other rescued shelties. Like many other shelties that started out at Thistlerose Kennels, Sadie had a rough start in life, but she's going to be enjoying her retirement as an indoor dog with much love and affection.
COOPER
went to a foster home so that he could be enrolled in some obedience classes and as I predicted (to myself of course), he's staying there permanently. Maybe when he jumped into the bathtub on his own, that clinched the deal ;)
